Qatar National Library - Children’s Library - Multi-purpose Room

Folk tales are passed down from generation to generation due to their captivating story line and the insight they offer. In collaboration with Qatar Reads under the campaign One book One Doha, join us for A Night with Kalila and Dimna. These fables, with animals as main characters, offer useful wisdom and guidance. We will read the story together at the Children’s Library and enact out scenes from the book, followed by a bookmark making activity.

Join us for storytime around Kalila wa Dimna, one of the most widespread and influential books in history. It is a collection of tales teaching wisdom, transcended languages, cultures and religions, and travelled from India across the world.

POSTER COMPETITION Kalila wa Dimna

Check out Kalila wa Dimna from the children’s library or read it online! Participate in our poster competition through our Instagram account (qnl_children) by creating a poster on an A3 paper of your favorite scene or character. Submit your artwork by the 24rd of March at the library and have a chance to win the best poster design. QNL staff will be voting for the for the 3 most creative and expressive posters. Winners will be announced on Instagram on the 31st of March and will receive an award. All work will be celebrated through Instagram and hung in the children library in a display as well.
Age: Children and young Adults 7-18 years old
The Competition will start from 13th March until 24th March 2022
